Educational Qualification
For Assistant Professor, the essential qualifications, experience and other eligibility conditions will be as prescribed under the UGC Regulations, 2018 and, for UIT posts, the applicable AICTE norms, 2019, along with amendments adopted/notified by the University.
The notification further states that candidates must have cleared NET conducted by UGC/CSIR or a similar test accredited by UGC such as SLET/SET, or possess a Ph.D. qualification as per the applicable UGC regulations and conditions mentioned in the advertisement.

Selection Process
For Category-A posts, candidates will be screened by the duly constituted Screening Committee based on eligibility, qualifications, experience and other applicable criteria.
For Assistant Professor posts:
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for Interview in order of merit.
- For one vacancy, a maximum of 25 candidates may be invited.
- For every additional vacancy, a maximum of 15 additional eligible candidates may be invited.
- Candidates are required to obtain a minimum of 50% qualifying marks in the interview, with 45% for reserved-category candidates, for consideration of selection in order of merit.
For candidates residing in specified far-flung areas mentioned in the notification, the last date for receipt of the hard copy is 03 October 2026 up to 5:00 PM.
Hard Copy Submission
Candidates applying for Assistant Professor posts are required to submit the hard copy of the online application form along with all relevant documents, including the required proof/documents relating to qualifications and publications/journals, to the University.
